Skills & Innovation: Skills and Innovative digital technologies provide an opportunity for learners to challenge boundaries. Learners use increasing skill sets and innovative thinking to construct meaning, apply critical thinking and original ideas to real-world situations. They share knowledge through self-expression, problem-posing and problem-solving, and reflection using digital technologies.

Communication & Ethics: Communicating is the exchange of information with various audiences using a range of media and formats. Effective communicators flexibly use digital media and visual modes to support individualized inquiry, work collaboratively, even at a distance, as well as supporting the inquiries of others. They make informed choices when deciding on tools to articulate meaning, and provide relevant, significant feedback to others. Learners are empowered through digital media and environments and through active participation in creating and sharing knowledge. Becoming an ethical citizen involves using ICT to make informed and responsible choices while acting with integrity and honesty. In a globally connected digital world, learners are empowered to be responsible for their actions, to value others’ rights and to practice safe and legal behaviors.

Information Fluency & Decision Making: In order for learners to conduct purposeful inquiry or research; to test existing understanding, discover new information and create new understanding they need digital literacies, informational fluency and digital technology decision making skills. Information fluent learners apply critical thinking skills and use appropriate digital tools to plan inquiry, conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions. Learners understand that ICT systems can be used to inform, adapt, manage and problem-solve during their creative, communicative, collaborative and investigative processes. Learners make decisions that enable them to transfer existing knowledge and independently explore new technologies.

Tools & Resources: The correct choice of tools and resources enable learners to leverage technology to whilst demonstrating aspects of innovation, communication and ethics, information fluency and decision making. These learners have a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.
